For seafood lovers, the Lobster Roll—brightened with Old Bay seasoning, lemon aioli, and crunchy celeriac—delivers a satisfying combination of buttery lobster and light, crisp textures.
The bar programme at Lot Six complements the food with an enticing selection of craft cocktails and local brews. Be sure to sample the artfully mixed Negroni or the refreshing Paradise Found Cocktail. For those seeking something spirited with a twist, the bar’s Moonshine and expertly balanced Espresso Martini add a splash of excitement to your evening. On sunny days, the white sangria served on the patio enhances the relaxed, convivial vibe that Lot Six fosters.
The ambiance is quietly sophisticated, with an interior flooded with natural light through an impressive atrium space. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between contemporary elegance and approachable warmth, making it equally perfect for a lively night out or a laid-back meal with friends. Diners have praised the venue’s “hidden gem” aura, likening it to a slice of London’s famous Covent Garden, which speaks to the unique charm and character that Lot Six exudes.
While some guests have noticed occasional slow service, many highlight the attentiveness of staff, particularly those who go above and beyond to create a seamless dining experience. The vibrant patio space further extends the venue’s appeal, providing a wonderful spot to unwind with a refreshing drink and savour the bustling street scene of Argyle Street.
Whether you’re stopping by for the impeccable oysters, indulging in the smoky sticky ribs, or savoring a cold Moscow Mule on the patio, Lot Six Bar & Restaurant captures the essence of Halifax’s dynamic food scene. It is a place where quality ingredients meet inventive culinary flair, all served with genuine hospitality in a setting that feels both lively and welcoming.
This is 4.5 stars rounded (reluctantly) down. The atrium is stunning, and the food was excellent, but service was all over the place despite them not seeming swamped and the overall result just wasn’t quite a 5 star experience. Wait times were inexplicably long, and we were going back and forth between two servers - the first was excellent, and definitely tried to improve the situation, but the second seemed to have no idea what was going on. Food-wise, we were there for brunch - everything was well prepared, and the coffee toffee french toast particularly stood out. (It’s definitely more toffee than coffee, but the texture was incredible. Caramelized yet still fluffy.) I’d go back, but I wouldn’t do it on a day where I had a schedule to keep.
We had a pleasant dinner here. The location is great. It was unfortunate we couldn’t get a table inside but the patio was nice. The beer selection was good and I really enjoyed the shoestring style fries. The lobster roll was pretty good, but the calamari was a standout for me. The service was fast and we enjoyed our meal.
This place was honestly a hidden gem. It totally gave me a vibe like I was stepping into a little slice of London almost like Covent Garden. The food was absolutely incredible. I tried their seafood boil, and it was out of this world! seriously, the flavors were just amazing. The rice with shrimp was fantastic too. And I’ve got to mention Oz, she was super lovely and really on top of everything. Overall, the place had a great atmosphere, and I’d totally recommend it.
Service was great. Restaurant has a great vibe. My husband loved his order, Bi Bim Bap. He said it was delicious. I ordered the mac cheese it was good, but not awesome. We were there for happy hour. We had two meals, 2 glasses of wine, and 3 draught beer. $100
